Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.said that Ven Udahamulle Dhammaloka Nayake Thera introduced information technology education to his Dhamma School because of his far-sighted vision about the needs of future generation. He said this on the occasion of presenting Sri Sannas Patra on the title of Chief Sanghanayake of Udugahapattuwa Colombo, to Udahamulle Dhammaloka Thera the chief incumbent of Udahamulla Thalapapitiya Sri Bodhirukkharamaya.held at Kotte Raja Maha Viharaya on 01.04.2023.
The Prime Minister speaking at the occasion said "On behalf of the government, we offer our respect and gratitude for the contribution that the Kotte Samagree Sangha Sabha has rendered in the service that the government it has performed for the sustainability of Sambuddha Sasana.
The society undergoes griefs and joy in different periods. Through such periods of time, Maha Sangha including Maha Nayaka Theras led in such a way to educate people in Sri Lanka and enhance their understanding of the teachings of Lord Buddha for many centuries.
Therefore, bestowing such an important accomplishment to Kotte Samagree Sangha Sabha especially to the young generation and devotees including laymen and clergy is very significant.
In the meantime, I firmly believe that the significance of the title and honor given to Dhammaloka Nayaka Thera is meant for the people and the perpetuity of the Sambuddha Sasana.
Dhammaloka Nayaka Thera has been a long standing companion since I was very young.
Udahamulle Chandraloka Nayaka Thera, the master of Dhammaloka Nayaka Thera was one of the greatest Theras that brightened Kotte Samagree Sangha Sabha and the entire area.
I consider it to be a great charity to lead such an arrangement following his footsteps.
Moreover, he traveled to villages that undergone difficulties.
All of us as residents of the area should mention the role played by Dhammaloka Thera with gratitude.
The Most Venerable Maha Nayaka Thera gave the Buddhist the guidance to go forward and take preventive steps bravely.
Jayawardenepura Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in Sri Lanka, was located next to his temple. When the authorities tried to to open a liquor store at its proximity, he behaved in a manner full of noble qualities. He managed to stop it in an exemplary manner.
The leadership qualities shone through his life is a great strength to Buddha Sasana.
He has a farsighted vision. He brought a computer and took the lead in starting information technology education in the Dhamma School because he had a far-sighted understanding of the fields that could add strength for the future generation of our country.
Maha Sangha including venerable Dr. Iththepane Dhammalankara Thera Mahanayake of Kotte Sri Kalyani Samagree Sangha Sabha and Chancellor of Sri Jayawardenepura University graced the occasion while many other contributors were present at the event.
