Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena expressed condolence to the families of the victims of the train accident in Orissa causing death of over 300 persons and injuring many others. In a twitter message he stated, "deeply saddened by the news of loss of hundreds of precious lives & injuries to many others in the train accident in Odisha, India.
Behalf of the Government and People of Sri Lanka, I offer my condolences to families of victims, & speedy recovery to those injured".
