Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya participated in the auspicious opening ceremony of the newly built Temple of the Tooth Relic at the Kotte Rajamaha Viharaya

The newly constructed Relic Chamber at the historic Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Raja Maha Vihara premises was offered to the Buddha Sasana today (August 24) with the participation of the Prime Minister, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, for the veneration of the Maha Sangha and the devotees.

Following the unveiling of the commemorative plaque by the Chief Incumbent of the historic Kotte Raja Maha Vihara, Most Venerable Dr. Aluthnuwara Anuruddha Nayaka Thero, the Prime Minister paid homage by a floral offering at the newly built Relic Chamber. Thereafter, the Prime Minister also joined the opening of the newly established temple museum located on the lower floor of the chamber.

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya visited “It’s about”, a mobile history museum which was placed at Colombo Public Library premises on August 22 with the aim of encouraging school children to explore the history of Sri Lanka after independence.

This mobile museum, launched in 2019, has so far been exhibited in 11 cities across 10 districts in 7 provinces of the country, and is now being presented in Colombo for the first time. A Discussion held on ways to promote school sports by Ministry of Education and Ministry of Sports and youth Affairs with the Prime Minister

Officials of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs held a discussion with Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, on August 21 at the Parliamentary Complex regarding the ways to promote school sports and resolving existing issues in the respective sector.

The ceremony of offering the Sannas Patra (official deed) declaring the ancient Sankhapitthi Temple in Kaduwela as a sacred site was held on August 18, with the participation of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, and the document was respectfully offered to the Chief Incumbent, Most Venerable Kanangama Narada Thero.

The government will establish Stable Policies to Expand Export Opportunities and Conquer the International Gem and Jewellery Market – Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya

Discussion on the coordination and implementation of Provincial Education Information Systems with the National Education Management Information System (NEMIS)

A Discussion between the All-Island Sasanarakshaka Bala Mandalaya and the Prime Minister

A discussion between the Prime Minister and the Chair person of the All-Island Sasanarakshaka Bala Mandalaya, Most Venerable Professor Thubulle Seelakkhanda Nayaka Thero, along with other members of the Maha Sangha, was held at Temple Trees.
