A meeting between Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya and Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Mr. Paul Wesley Stephan was held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Colombo Yesterday morning (18).

The High Commissioner, extends the good wishes of the Australian government, and then engaged in a discussion on strengthening diplomatic relations between the two countries.

United Nations (UN) representatives meet the Prime Minister.

A meeting between Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya and Mr. Vimlendra Sharan, representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations was held Yesterday morning (18) at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Future measures for the development of the agriculture sector in Sri Lanka were discussed at the meeting and attention was drawn to several important aspects of agriculture.

A meeting between the Sri Lankan Director of the Asian Development Bank and the Prime Minister.

Takafumi Kadono, the Sri Lanka Director of the Asian Development Bank, met with Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya at the Prime Minister’s Office yesterday (18) for a discussion. The Prime Minister expressed her gratitude for the support provided by the Asian Development Bank for various development projects in Sri Lanka. She conveyed her hopes for continued support from the Bank to help achieve Sri Lanka’s future development goals.

New Zealand Government extended wishes to the Prime Minister

A meeting between Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya and New Zealand High Commissioner Mr. David Gregory Pine was held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Colombo this morning (18).

Greetings from the Prime Minister to the National Carrom Team participating in the Carrom World Cup.

The Sri Lankan national carrom team, which includes players participating in the Carrom World Cup held in the United States of America, met Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya at the Prime Minister’s Office today (18).

Eight athletes along with the team manager will participate representing Sri Lanka in the Sixth Carrom World Cup to be held in San Francisco, California, America from 10th to 17th November 2024.

The Sri Lanka Cricket Institute is providing a financial assistance of 5 million rupees for this tour and its Treasurer Mr. Sujeewa Godaliyadda also participated in this event to symbolically award the same.

South African High Commissioner His Excellency Sandile Edwin Schalk said that the South African government is giving special focus on strengthening research and development sectors in Sri Lanka.

The African High Commissioner said this during the discussion held at the Prime Minister’s Office yesterday (15) afternoon, while extending wishes of the South African government to the Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.

The team participating in the Asian Netball Championship, which is held in India, met the Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya today (14).

A message from a 14-year-old schoolgirl to the Prime Minister.

The 14-year-old student Fatima Nada, who came from Kattankudy to Colombo by foot cycle, handed over a message to the Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya at the Prime Minister’s Office this morning (14).

The Prime Minister wears the butterfly logo for Mental Health Day.

On the occasion of World Mental Health Day on 10.10.2024, Sunil Keerthi Nanayakkara who Operations Director of Sri Lanka Mental Health Clients’ Action Organization (CAN MH Lanka) presented the butterfly logo to the Prime Minister.

Extend support to rescue Sri Lankans in cybercrime camps in Myawaddy - Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya requests the Thai government.

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya requested the Thai government’s assistance in rescuing Sri Lankans still detained in cybercrime camps in Myanmar’s Myawaddy region, facilitated by the Myanmar government and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya made this request during a discussion held with the Thai Ambassador, Paitoon Mahapannaporn, at the Prime Minister’s Office today (10.10.2024).

The Prime Minister expressed her gratitude for the assistance provided by the Government of Thailand in rescuing 28 Sri Lankans from cybercrime camps and asked for continued support to rescue the 40 Sri Lankans still detained in the said camps.
