The Prime Minister, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, stated that the Government does not grant any special privileges or promote anyspecific group of people and emphasized that sensitive social issues should not be used for political advantage.
The Prime Minister made these remarks on October 8 in Parliament, responding to a question raised by Opposition MP Kavinda Jayawardena regarding the LGBTIQ+ community.
