We all are determined participants in the great reforming process of the nation. We have already moved forward from the past. We have to step into the future from the present. No government employee has been deprived of their pension on retirement. The treasury has provided an opportunity to make the Pensioner’s Fund independent after paying off the debt of the retirement account. International friends supported us during our most challenging periods. International friends helped us to recover from the worst precipice from which our economy fell after the Covid epidemic. Based on their trust, the President, myself as the Prime Minister, the cabinet of Ministers, Parliament and the public service took part in the efforts to overcome that challenge, successfully fulfilling the trust placed by our people.

The farmers of our country have been able to create a motherland that can be self-sufficient in food. I would like to reiterate that the support and dedication shown by all of you, including the Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office, to get rid of the financial crisis and economic restrictions that we had in other fields as well, may be better fulfilled in the new year.

We are committed to the ambition of building a country that leads to poverty-free development according to the pledge given by President Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe to build a prosperous and thriving country. As the Prime Minister’s office, we always stand for it.

We are entering into a new year in which you all are able to carry out your duties with greater courage and confidence than the previous year. We quickly forget many things in human life. We all work for the desire to make our life easier by avoiding difficulties, hardships and harsh situations. Today, we are moving forward with the confidence created to re-strengthen the path to achieve the future that the whole society expects.

Let us work hand in hand to build the future of the motherland based on the support and guidance provided by the government.
