Immediately appoint multi-purpose development assistants to relevant institutions - Prime Minister

Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena instructed the government officials to appoint the multi-purpose development assistants who have not yet been appointed to the relevant institutions before 15th of November.

A discussion was held on the performance and expediting the process of appointments of the Multipurpose Development Task Force Department today (25.10.2023) at the Prime Minister’s Office under the patronage of Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.

In this discussion, the attention was paid to the steps taken so far by the official committee appointed by the Cabinet to review the government recruitment process.

At present, instructions have been given to appoint multi-purpose development assistants for the primary service vacancies in the public service, but the appointments have not yet been made in some ministries. Due to this, the Prime Minister’s attention was drawn to the fact that 4780 multi-purpose development assistants are yet to be appointed.

Accordingly, the Prime Minister instructed the officials to appoint the multi-purpose development assistants who have not yet been appointed before November 15 and assign them to the designated positions.

State ministers Janaka Vakkambura, Ashoka Priyantha, Secretary to the Prime Minister Anura Dissanayake, ministry secretaries, heads of institutions and other government officials joined the event.
