It is a reason to be happy that Sri Lanka is gradually achieving economic stability-Canadian High Commissioner

Canadian High Commissioner David Mackinnon, who has completed five years of service in Sri Lanka, paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena today (30) at the Prime Minister’s Office.
They held discussions on the bilateral relations between the two countries and the steps Sri Lanka is taking to overcome the current economic challenges.
Mr. Mackinnon expressed his happiness over the progress towards reviving the economy after overcoming the unprecedented economic challenges faced by the country.
The Prime Minister said that he is thankful for Canada’s support to Sri Lanka since the past, by establishing Hardy Advanced technological Institute in Ampara that produced a large number of skilled technicians for Sri Lanka, and for the support given to the public transport service by providing railway locomotives.
The High Commissioner also pointed out that encouraging established businessman among Sri Lankans living in Canada to invest in this country will hugely benefit the country’s economic progress.
Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister, Harsha Wijayawardena and Political and Commercial Head of the Canadian High Commission, Daniel Bood also participated in this event.
