Three volumes of new Stamps are issued on World Postal Day 2021 under the patronage of the Prime Minister.

On World Postal Day new three stamp categories - world Postal Day commemorative stamp, new Rs1000 stamp and a set of themed stamps featuring endemic bird species in Sri Lanka- were issued under the patronage of the Hon. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Temple Trees today (09th September).
Hon. Dullas Alahapperuma- Minister of Mass Media, presented the first day envelopes and stamps to Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Mr. Pulasthi Ediriweera has created the new 2021 World Postal Day Commemorative Stamp, reflecting the fact that the Sri Lanka Postal Service is still active internationally despite the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic.

Five-member-committee-report on restructuring of the Central Cultural Fund was handed over to the Prime Minister

The final report of the Five-member committee appointed by the Hon. The Prime Minister initiates important milestones of Jaffna-Kilinochchi Water Supply Project (a project that aims to provide safe drinking water to the population of the city of Jaffna and its surrounding urban and rural areas)

Indian Foreign Secretary Shringla Calls on Prime Minister Rajapaksa

Foreign Secretary of India Harsh Vardhan Shringla called on Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees this morning.

The Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa instructed the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka to reduce import restrictions

Hon. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa today (29th September) instructed the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Ajith Nivard Cabraal to minimize current import restrictions as much as possible on non-essential goods and equipment.
The Prime Minister issued this directive considering the difficulties faced by entrepreneurs and the public due to the existing restrictions on imports of non-essential goods and equipment.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa orders immediate release of essential food items blocked at the port

During the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Cost-of-Living, the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa today (24th September) ordered the Controller General of Imports and Exports and the Director General of Sri Lanka Customs to immediately release essential food items blocked due to various reasons at the port.
Speaking at the event, Finance Minister Hon. Basil Rajapaksa requested Trade Minister Hon. (Dr.) Bandula Gunawardane to expedite the distribution of the essential food items to the people through the Co-operative Wholesale Establishment [CWE] and essential food importers.
